Terms of Reference

The role of the Faringdon Patient Participation Group is to work with the White Horse Medical Practice, as a ‘critical friend’, to achieve the best possible care for our patients. This objective will be achieved across five broad areas.

1. Feedback to Practice
The PPG will canvass patients on what they see as their health needs, concerns and interests, feed that back to the Practice and then monitor progress regularly, challenging the Practice as necessary.

2. Communication with patients
The PPG will support the Practice’s communications with patients on the delivery and improvement of their services.

3. Briefing the Practice
The PPG will actively gather information from the wider community on aspects that may impact patient welfare in general – such as housing, transport or social services – and brief the Practice on them.

4. Public health
The PPG will support the Practice in helping patients become better informed about healthcare options and in the promotion of personal good health and health literacy.

5. Wider liaison
The PPG will be actively involved in local and national patient and health management groups both to give and receive information and news of relevance to the PPG and Practice.
